About Dave Briggs

Dave Briggs

My name is Dave Briggs, and thank you for visiting my travelogue site. I've always had a wanderlust, and about thirteen years ago, I put my dreams into reality with my first around the world trip which lasted for 15 months. Since then, I have become a regular traveller, only coming back to England to work for six months or so, before returning to the road with the money that I have saved. Each trip I undertake has some theme, from tours of archaeological ruins in South America to experiencing India on the railways. I've slowly transformed from backpacker to adventure cyclist, and my last trip was cycling from England to Cape Town.

I've developed a particular writing style over the years that reflects my personality (for good or bad!), so I write both to inform people who are interested in the areas I pass through, or people who would like to do similar trips, with just a smidgen of sarcasm and tongue-in-cheekness.

The website is very easy to navigate. Over on the left hand side, you will see a couple of menus, so just click away until you get to where you want! Each new article I write, will feature here on the front page, until I write another one that will replace it. All the articles are located in this travelogue.

As well as cycling and travelling, I have played bass guitar in a couple of bands, hence a link to a music page, have spent a few years studying martial arts, am a keen online strategy game player (under the name of Thug or Darth Thug) when time allows, and also write short stories and poems (of dubious quality). If there was one thing I would want more of, it's time to balance everything!

Currently, i am cycling from Alaska to Argentina. The plan is quite simple - Ride a bicycle from Alaska to Argentina. I left in July 2009, and am estimating that it will take a year and a half of cycling to reach the southern most point of Argentina. Daves Travel Pages will be updated once a week with news on my preparations, so be sure to keep coming back to davestravelpages.com.

    Internet Projects

As well as Daves Travel Pages, I also run several other websites. At the moment, combined, they earn enough to pay for my web hosting packages, domain name charges, and give me an additional sum of a few hundred pounds a year. Its my aim, desire, hope, ambition to develop these sites to the point that they earn me enough money to travel on full time, without the need to return to the UK to work. I'm not a greedy person, or materialistic...If they earned me ten pounds a day, combined, that would be great.
