Booking a Flight with Ryanair
Booking a flight with Ryanair used to mean that you would end up with a cheap flight – Not now though. Its been a while since I booked a flight with Ryanair, but I have just gone through the experience now, when I booked a flight from England to Malta. How things have changed! I remember when the attraction of the site was how simple it was to use, how quick it was to book, and of course, how cheap its was!
Ryanair is no longer cheap! I dare say they still do have the occasional deal which makes them seem cheap, but they charge extra for so much stuff – 25 pounds for checked in luggage, a 6 pounds administration fee to use a credit card etc etc.
Ryanair is not a quick site to use! Instead of being able to simply book a flight, they try to sell too many extra things during the booking process, and additionally, they hide certain essential bits of information to make the process slower. The WORST thing is though, that they have allowed “pop up adverts” on their site – One for Groupon was particularly annoying.
The upshot of all this is booking a flight with Ryanair no longer guarantees you a cheap flight, which leads me to two conclusions.
I prefer cycling without needing to fly at all!
If British Airways fly to the same destination, I will choose them and pay a little more for the flight.
Still, my flight out to Malta is booked – I just need to get an itinerary sorted out now for what I am doing when I arrive!
