Exiting Tijuana was extremely straight forwards (again thanks to Google), although it was a bit uphill, and the road potholed. Once at the top, and out of town, the road was good and I made quick time. There were two choices of road, the Cuota (toll) and Libre (free). I was allowed onto the toll road, although after a while I bored of the traffic and took the libre instead. This led inland slightly and over some pretty steep climbs, so if anyone else intends to cycle in Baja, only take the libre if you like a challenge!
On the way into Ensenada, I was stopped by a woman in a car. Does the charm even work from long distances I asked myself ?!! She said her husband often took cycle tourists into his house for the night, and would I like to follow her. I explained that I already had a hotel booked, so we swapped details before we parted. But thank you anyway love! Finding the hotel was simple, and Lot (Carmens contact in Ensenada) was there waiting for me. After I showered, Lot took me to a restaurant for a good meal and a couple of beers - Thanks again Carmen! Lot explained a little about the area,  introduced me to driving Mexican style, and gave me information about the road ahead.
