Cycling from Alaska to Argentina Travelogue - November 2009 Travelogue
I used the internet in the morning, and my bank problem seemed to have sorted itself out, which is a relief. What wasn’t so pleasant, was receiving a credit card bill which Mum described in her email as ‘Enormous credit card bill’. A lot of things had piled up and all come through in the same month - New wheel , spare parts for the bike, a hostel room, a motel room, various supermarket purchases etc. Fortunately, I also had a bit of luck in that my PayPal account was released meaning I could access the funds, I withdrew 40 pounds from my Betfair account and also my www.hostalworld.net site paid out this month as well for 140 pounds, so it all kind of balances out. Anyhow, with that all under control, it was time to hit the road again. I only had a short day in mind, but things didn’t work out that way, as a beach camp I checked out was far too windy to stay at. Instead, I pushed on to El Rosario, where with 80 kms in the bag, I booked into the first place I saw, which also had WiFi which was nice. I wanted a certain degree of luxury (running water, shade), as I knew that the next few days might be quite hard.
