Renting a villa as a holiday destination is becoming more and more popular, especially for large families. There are many destination options and even more types of villas that you can choose from. No matter where you decide to vacation or what type of villa attracts you the most, you will do well to pay attention to the following tips before making your final booking.

What To Check Before Renting A Holiday Villa

Proximity of other villas – Some holidaymakers would rather stay secluded, others prefer some company. If privacy is what you want, make sure to check the proximity of your villa to other villas. The holiday villa company would normally display a map with the location and nearby properties, otherwise you should ask for one.

Nearest town – You may find it useful to stock up on food, water or you may even require a chemist. Before booking your holiday, take the time to familiarise yourself with the nearest town, as it will likely have shops, restaurants, banks and so forth, all may become very useful.

Suitable transportation – If you have decide to hire a car for the duration of your stay, choose a hire car that includes a car satellite navigation or buy a local map before you arrive. Otherwise, find out about public transportation in the area.

Find out about local traditions and language – You will find it very handy to understand more about the area and people that you are about to interact with. Imagine that you are hiring a holiday villa in Portugal in an area that is less popular with mainstream tourists, without knowing basic local language you may find it very hard to get by.

List all nearest attractions – During your holiday you may want to go out and about to explore the area and its surroundings. Depending on what type of attraction will appeal to your party the most, list all the nearby attractions. If your family or partner prefers an action-full holiday, but you’ve chosen a secluded area with little or no attractions that would be a shame.

Available equipment - Some villas may be more equipped than others. Make a list of items and equipment that will make your stay more pleasurable and compare it to the listing. Examples may include satellite TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and so on.

Enjoy your holiday!
