Cleaning and Drying Outdoor Wear

For outdoor sports enthusiasts, it’s vital you have a washing machine that knows exactly how to wash your expensive outdoor gear. This will make sure it’s in top condition for your next extreme adventure.

After all, when you’re exercising you want the coat and base layers you’re wearing to protect you against the rain and chilling cold, as well as being comfy to move around in and breathable when it’s hot.

If your washer doesn’t have what it takes to look after your outdoor clothes, then take a look at what Indesit have to offer. Their washing machines come with four fantastic programmes designed to wash anything from water proof jackets to muddy trainers:

  • The Outwear wash uses low temperatures and is designed to not only protect and but also retain the waterproof coating on hiking jackets and the kid’s school cagoules.

  • The Sports intensive cycle is a long cool wash which gives your clothes a really thorough soak – perfect for tackling muddy, grass-stained cycling and running leggings.

  • The Sports light option is a slightly shorter cycle and takes care of your breathable base layers, rinsing away odours and sweat stains.

  • There’s even a Special shoes cycle which uses a slow gentle wash to clean your mucky trainers, without damaging them or the surface of the drum. Considering how tricky it can be to scrub your trainers, this is such a handy programme to have.

Indesit have even developed a tumble dryer which comes with a special sports rack. By suspending the shoes away from the surface of the drum, the shoe rack helps to dry and air out your trainers at the same time. And it does this whist protecting them against banging around the inside of the drum. So, no more stuffing your running shoes with newspaper and having to leave them on the radiator for ages to dry!

Top Tip from our Cleaning Expert

“I’m a very active person and attend British Military Fitness training three times a week as well as regularly hiking and running. I wash my outdoor sports wear at least 3 times a week and quite often it’s all caked in mud! If it weren’t for the tailored outdoor and sports wash cycles on my machine protecting my clothes and trainers, I don’t know how I’d manage. I’d be constantly replacing my outdoor clothing and base layers, which just isn’t practical. Luckily my machine takes care of my clothes, keeping them as good as new and ready for my next outdoor adventure!”
