I have been fortunate enough to have visited Ecuador twice now. The first time, was in 2005, and it was part of my backpacking trip to see the major archaeological sites of Central and South America. read about it here...
The secon time that I visited Ecuador, was during my cycling expedition from Alaska to Argentina. What a great country to cycle through!! read about it here..
