 Cycling from Alaska to Argentina

On the 14th of July 2009, I  begin my cycling expedition from the North of Alaska to the South of Argentina, following the Pan American Highway.

The main aim for this trip is to cycle the length of the American continent from north to south. Along the way, however, I would like to try a few things, and one of them is to spend some time WWOOFing. WWOOF stands for Willing Workers on Organic Farms. Its something I haven’t tried before, and I’d like to do this as a way of learning about how organic farming and lifestyles work, coupled with promoting greener ideas of living and transportation throughout this website. Secondly, there is an organisation called Couch Surfers, and I’d really like to give this a go, as it seems a great way to spread ideas of greener living and transportation through other social networks.

And before anyone says ‘this isn’t the Dave Briggs I know’… well, it’s the Dave Briggs you are going to know! I’ll perhaps write a page later on giving some background as to where I am coming from, and where I’d like to go with these ideas, but for now, lets get back to the trip planning !
