Adventure Travel

Adventure Travel is actually harder to define than you might at first think. I mean, what is adventure travel? Surely, everytime a backpacker travels to another country, it is an adventure of sorts.

I believe that Adventure Travel is where an individual either deviates from a set path, or creates a path of their own. Adventure Travel may involve a certain amount of risk - always calculated. Reckless travel is where the risk is not calculated!

Adventure travel may involve a degree of risk, of physical, emotional or mental hardship, a certain financial cost and the knowledge that there is an equal risk of success or failure.

Although I started as a backpacker, I have certainly turned towards Adventure travel more.
