The beaches we found were not as nice as elsewhere in Greece. Open, overcrowded and - during our 3 days - very windy and rough.
The town itself is fairly average, which is to say tatty and unloved.
It seems the Greek people have given up on the environment and tidiness generally. As a destination, the most disappointing of the seven places we stayed during our visit.
Closeness to Athens probably plays a part, as many Greeks come down just for a few days.

Porto Rafti is a great place to get away from the crowds of tourists. Beautiful, quiet beach and authentic Greek food, locally sourced foods in the market, and freshly baked pastries-who could ask for more? Just a short walk to a quiet beach cove, the main beach, restaurants, and bakery. This property is beautiful and clean and we appreciated the AC, patio, and the assistance of the management in booking a taxi to the airport. We would love to return!

Porto Rafti is a great place, I like the lack of huge hotels and not too big a s a tourist destination. Yet you have superb restaurants and beeches. The place is small enough to have a nice walk to find restaurants etc.

Porto Rafti is a bit off of the tourist track.
Porto Rafti is a bit off of the tourist track. It would be more of a traditional Greek port Town. A car is recommend for getting the area. The proximity to the airport is a good feature. There are a number of smaller beaches, natural parks and other attractions in the surrounding area that are worth looking at rather than heading into Athens. There are some good restaurants in the area rather than just the regular tourist fare of greek food restaurants found in tourist areas.

It saddens me to say i was very disappointed with my reservation of this apartment. It was nothing like what it showed in the advertisement. As soon as i arrived i honestly wanted to leave but because i had a person with disabilities i had no choice but to stay. It was a very boring and dull apartment,. The floor and worktops of the kitchen were full of ants not allowing us to put food. The cooker was dirty inside and the buttons knobs of the cooker were worse for ware. In the outside yard was a caravan with people living inside not leaving you much choice for privacy. I felt like i was a prisoner. I would highly recommend that the owners of this apartment take immediate action in refreshing the whole apartment as i think you will lose customers. It was not easy to get to surrounding shops etc if you dont have a car. It really ruined the last days of my holidays. 😕

Porto Rafti is a small, quiet town that has some beautiful sea-views and offers a local experience. Getting around is difficult if you do not have a vehicle, as taxi's are few (and expensive), and walking is not always ideal with limited pavements and larger distances between beaches and shops. Eating at Kazba is a MUST!! The best beach by far is Paralia Markopoulou, however, there is an entrance fee and it gets very busy, but definitely well worth it!
