After taking a rest day in Barra de Navidad, it was time to hit the road again. This bike tour blog covers the cycle ride from Barra de Navidad to Cuyutlan in Mexico.
Cycling from Barra de Navidad
(Blog post written January 14 2010)
Although it was very tempting to stay for another day, and they were a great bunch staying at the Hotel Jalisco, I was conscious that I needed to get some miles under my belt.
As far as the days cycling goes, it was brilliant. The road was predominantly flat, the surface smooth, traffic light, and in addition, a tailwind to help push me along. The Goddess of Cycling was certainly smiling on me today!
The road took me through the town of Cihuatlan, where I detoured to take a picture of this church.
A visit to Cuyutlan
Making excellent time, I decided to take the bypass around my original destination of Manzinillo, and carried on cycling to Cuyutlan.
If you're thinking to visit Cuyutlan, it is a small, sleepy coastal town. I found a hotel with a good room for 100 pesos, so good news there!
Feeling energised and tranquil at the same time from the ride, I patched a few old tubes in a Zen like state, and planned the road ahead.
