Folegandros to Kimolos ferry
The two neighbouring Cyclades islands of Folegandros and Kimolos are often included together in Greek island hopping itineraries. Their close proximity to one another means that very little vacation time is spent traveling between the two.
They are also quite different in nature. Visiting Kimolos and Folegandros on the same trip gives a great variety of experience when it comes to beaches, landscapes, food, and even the communities themselves.
The volcanic island of Kimolos is one of the best islands in the Cyclades group to visit after Folegandros.

Things to do in Kimolos
Although Folegandros has a slightly higher profile as a destination than Kimolos, many travelers prefer Kimolos out of the two. This is perhaps due to the fact that tourism is not the main industry on the island.
As a result, when sightseeing on the islands it feels a lot more authentic and less built for tourists than Folegandros. When planning your Kimolos itinerary, you could consider including the following:
- Explore Chorio (the main town)
- Check out all those great beaches
- Hike to Skadia (the Mushroom rock!)
- Take a boat trip around the island
